The HCYU gathers youth embarking upon on bringing into play the revolutionary heroism and national valuable traditions, organizes and mobilizes youth to be pioneers in the cause of national construction and defense.
The HCYU is a reliable reserve force of the Communist Party of Vietnam and a school of socialism for youth, represents and protects youth’s legal rights and is a core political force in youth movements as well as in other youth organizations of Vietnam.
The HCYU strengthens solidarity, develops friendly and equal cooperation with progressive youth organizations, youth and people in the world striving for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress, for the future and happiness of the youth.
HCYU’s foundation day: 26 Mar. 1931
Main tasks:
- To represent, take care of and protect legitimate rights of youth cadres, HCYU’s members, youth and children.
- To organize activities, create an educational environment for training HCYU’s members, youth and children aimed at contributing to fulfillment of political and economic, social and cultural, defense and security targets of localities as well as those of the whole country.
- To co-ordinate with the government agencies, mass organizations, economic and social organizations to effectively carry out youth works, participate in building and protecting Party and Government.
The HCYU is a collective member of the Vietnam Youth Federation and a member of the World Federation of Democratic Youth.
